Youth Engagement on Food Systems at COP28: Rayan’s first-hand takeaways

“What did you think of COP28?” is a common question people got asked days after its end. If you’ve been following closely, then I’m sure you’ve already been informed in detail about the general outcomes of the final text, the food declaration, and the ins and outs of the negotiations. In this brief, we will focus on the engagement of youth at COP28 with a focus on food systems.

Most often, youth are asked what they are doing more than what they demand which is ironic because it should be the opposite. In my years of being a youth advocate, we’ve always been able to answer both. So, let me give you glimpses of what engagements youth were involved in at COP28.”
