World Environment Day: Beat Plastic Pollution

World Environment Day: Beat Plastic Pollution

This World Environment Day, we are speaking out and pushing for change on plastic pollution with UN Environment Programme.

The facts:

  • Less than 10% of plastic ever produced is recycled
  • Plastic can take hundreds of years to break down
  • More than 90% of all birds and fish are believed to have plastic particles in their stomach
  • 40% of the world’s garbage is burnt, 12% of which consists of plastic.

At Future Food Movement, we are calling for a shift towards climate smart food design in the food industry and a reduction in plastic use and waste.

Future Food Movement Food Design Coach, Michelle Rowley, explores the principles of successful food design, and how to reformulate prepared convenience foods – what is in the packet as well as what surrounds it – and drive a climate smart shift in offers and demand through NPD.

We have the solutions. No more excuses.
