SPACES OPEN: October Sustainability Accelerator
Thomas Tromans, Deputy Technical Manager at First Grade International, joined The Accelerator to gain knowledge, experience, and confidence to lead positive environmental changes in his business.
Three months later, we caught up with Tom to see if he had reached his goal.
Coming from a biomedical and food background, Tom was seeking an introduction to climate skills and the confidence to take action in his business, advancing his role to the next level. Did you achieve your goal from the programme?
“Yes the programme was great and really informative! With my biomedical food background, I had limited knowledge in sustainability, but the diverse topics delivered by insightful trainers gave me a solid foundation.”
What have you put in place at work since finishing The Accelerator Programme?
“I’ve started implementing sustainability reporting frameworks and have completed two environmental visits, to a grape vineyard and a coconut plantation. We’re currently awaiting a climate assessment from our consultancy partner, which will guide our target-setting and reduction action plans. We have also reviewed internal HR systems following the EDI training module.”
Would you recommend the programme to others working in food?
“It’s a fantastic programme, very varied and presentations from a variety of insightful trainers”
