Boards for climate

Calling for a public commitment on climate literacy from the top 150 food businesses in the UK by 2024

Food production makes up around 35% of total GHG emissions.

Despite the pledges businesses have made, we are not seeing enough action - the risk of missing net zero targets is now a very real possibility, and without tangible action we are on track for disaster.

There is a huge climate skills gap in the food industry and this manifests in a lack of competency at all levels, which in turn creates a lack of confidence to act - and a lack of courageous leadership.

As a food industry, we're so well placed to fix so many of these problems, We've increasingly got the tools and technology to drive change - but we need to focus on - and invest in - creating and supporting transformational leaders.

Upskilling remains at the heart of how we believe we can unlock action – building climate competency and confidence to act.

We want to empower the sector to lead the climate transformation that will bring business and health benefits for generations to come.
