Responsible for the direction and implementation of the ‘Enriching Life’ Plan. The 2030 strategy includes a Net Zero ambition supported by 1.5C-aligned science-based climate targets; an ambition to donate at least one million meals each year; a commitment to end deforestation in the supply chain and growth plans for plant-based foods.

Having worked in the Food and Beverage industry for over 20 years Nick has spent the last decade helping companies understand ESG and climate risks and build new business models for the future.

JEAN-MICHEL GRAND

Executive Director, Action Against Hunger

Jean-Michel has been Executive Director of Action Against Hunger UK since 2003. He started his career in the humanitarian sector in 1994 as a logistician during the Bosnian War and spent the following years working in humanitarian crises such as Chechnya, Northern Rakhine state in Myanmar, Tajikistan, Malawi and Zimbabwe, mainly for Action Against Hunger.

Over the past two decades, Jean-Michel has dedicated his efforts to addressing child malnutrition around the world and helping communities affected by humanitarian disasters. Increasingly, climate change is one of the main drivers of food insecurity globally and, through Action Against Hunger, he is committed to mitigate the consequences of climate crises,
to enhance communities’ resilience through agro-ecology, reducing food waste, adapting farming techniques and production and to raising awareness on the need to reduce carbon emission in the food chain.

VERITY LAWSON

Group Head of Sustainability, SSP Group

Verity Lawson is the Group Head of Sustainability at SSP Group plc. She is responsible for leading and coordinating the management and delivery of the SSP’s Sustainability Strategy and targets across its global business, covering 38 markets, c.550 brands and nearly 3,000 restaurants, bars, cafes and other food and beverage outlets in travel locations. Verity is a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (ICRS) and has nearly 20 years’ experience working in corporate sustainability for multinational food and consumer goods businesses.
