ANNA TAYLOR

Anna joined The Food Foundation as its first Executive Director in June 2015 after 5 years at the Department for International Development (|DFID). The Food Foundation is an independent organisation that tackles the growing challenges facing the UK’s food system through the interests of the UK public. During 2019-21 she also served as Chief Independent Adviser to Henry Dimbleby – author of the National Food Strategy. At DFID Anna led the policy team on nutrition and supported the delivery of the UK’s global commitments to tackle undernutrition. Anna serves on the Board of Veg Power and on the Strategy and Program Council for the International Food Policy Research Institute in Washington DC.

A core aspect of the way we work is through collaboration so we’re looking forward to seeing how being part of this new community can bring new opportunities to drive the change we want to see.

Baroness Walmsley

The House of Lords Select Committee on Food, Diet and Obesity, Chair

Joan Walmsley (Baroness Walmsley of West Derby) was appointed a Life Peer in 2000 and became the education spokesman for the Liberal Democrats in the House of Lords during the Liberal Democrat/ Conservative coalition government, and subsequently the health spokesman. During the Coalition, she was elected Convenor of the hundred strong Liberal Democrat peers group. Subsequently, she was elected Deputy Leader of the group and has continued in that role. She speaks in the House on many issues, including global warming, energy, health and children’s rights.

Joan has been a member of the House of Lords Science and Technology Committee for many years and, in that capacity, chaired a special report on an aspect of biological education in 2006. She currently chairs the Special Inquiry into Food, Diet and Obesity which will report later this year.

OONAGH TURNBULL

  • Tesco, Head of Health & Sustainable Diets Campaigns

Oonagh is Head of Health and Sustainable Diets Campaigns at Tesco. Working in partnership with colleagues across the business, and key strategic NGO and charity partners, she is responsible for driving forward an innovative and inspiring communications and campaign strategy that supports Tesco’s colleagues and customers to lead a healthier and more sustainable life.

This includes the award-winning Tesco Health Charity Partnership – with British Heart Foundation, Diabetes UK and Cancer Research UK – and long-term collaborations with the British Nutrition Foundation, the Food Foundation and Bite Back.

Oonagh started her career at Boots, where she held a number of communications, marketing and social action roles. She is a Director at Nottingham Forest Community Trust and lives in a little village with her husband, children and 3 sausage dogs.

Passionate about health and sustainability, I love working internally and with partners to develop and deliver programmes and campaigns that support positive social impacts.

OONAGH TURNBULL Tesco, Head of Health & Sustainable Diets Campaigns

LEE FINNEY

Lee Finney is Chief Operating Officer of Greencore, a leading convenience food manufacturer headquartered in Ireland and with extensive operations across the UK. Lee has executive accountability for Greencore’s end-to-end Supply Chain, Digital and Sustainability transformation. Lee has held VP, Chief Transformation Officer, and Chief Supply Officer roles across Europe, North America and Australasia, primarily specialising in global food and beverage brands. Lee has an MBA from Warwick, was awarded the AMP at INSEAD, and has completed Executive education at MIT and Stanford, USA.

LOUISE ROBINSON

Louise Robinson leads the Category Strategy and Management function for Danone UK&I. Danone’s purpose is to bring healthy diets to as many people as possible, and as part of this Louise’s team work within the business and with retailers, to bring this purpose to life in store through understanding shopper behaviour and motivations. Louise has previously held roles in Trade Marketing, Innovation and Category Management at Diageo and Unilever.

PETER HARRISON

Peter Harrison is the Managing Director of Quorn Foods UK & Ireland. He has a wealth of experience in commercial roles in the food industry, starting at Mars as a graduate trainee in 1995. Immediately before joining Quorn Foods, Peter worked for over 12 years at Kellogg’s in a number of brand and marketing roles, finally overseeing the big household name cereal brands as UK & Ireland Marketing Director. Peter studied History and French at University of Nottingham.

Since arriving at Quorn in July 2013, Peter’s remit has included Marketing & Innovation, Quorn’s USA business, as well as the global Food Service & QSR business, which is still in his remit.
